Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 10 minutes. Add the taco seasoning and mix well.
- If using refried beans, combine them with a splash of water in the skillet, stirring until smooth. If using black beans, drain and rinse them before setting aside.
- On a large sheet pan, spread out the tortilla chips evenly. Spoon the seasoned ground beef over the chips, followed by dollops of refried or black beans.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously over the top of the nachos, and add sliced jalapeños and black olives as desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the chips are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Add your choice of fresh toppings like tomatoes, onions, avocados, and pickled red onions.
Notes
For the best nacho experience, serve your nachos immediately after baking to maintain their crispy texture.
To avoid sogginess, consider serving the toppings on the side, allowing guests to customize their plates. If you have leftovers, store the toppings separately from the chips to preserve their crunch.
